John Goltermann, CFA, CPA, CGMA
John has a diverse background in accounting and ﬁnance with an emphasis on providing investment management services for high-net-worth and institutional clients. John has also been a key person in building several investment management businesses. At Obermeyer Asset Management, he crafted the firm’s global equity strategy and provided portfolio management. During his tenure with the firm, its assets grew from $125 million in 2001 to almost $1 billion prior to a merger with another Denver-based investment adviser. His responsibilities also included business development, client communications, relationship management, and SEC compliance. Before joining Obermeyer, John performed ﬁnancial due diligence and valuation work as a senior associate with an Arizona-based private equity ﬁrm. Prior to that, he helped build the money market franchise at Janus Capital Group, helping it grow from inception to over $3 billion under management in three years.
John earned his MBA from Arizona State University. He attended University of Colorado and Metropolitan State College, where he earned a BS in Accountancy and graduated summa cum laude. He is the recipient of numerous academic and professional awards, and has been a regular source of opinion for major news outlets including CNBC, Fox Business, Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and Grant's Interest Rate Observer.
Drew Hayworth, CFA
Drew works collaboratively with clients to help put together an appropriate investment plan and is a key person in Highgate’s investment selection process, performing securities analyses, valuations, and macro assessments. He also runs our trading operation, portfolio accounting, and client reporting. Drew served as an equity portfolio manager at Gallacher Capital Management, LLC, where he specialized in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and individual security selection for high-net-worth individuals and families. In 2004, he co-founded Madison Street Partners, LLC, in Denver, Colorado, serving as lead Portfolio Manager for the Madison Street Master Fund, SPC, a long/short equity strategy with a focus on the financial, consumer, technology and media sectors during a period when the firm grew from $1 million to over $400 million under management. In January 1996, he joined the New York-based firm ETG, LLC, where he invested the firm’s proprietary equity and option account in the financial services, technology, energy, and media sectors. There he was responsible for security selection, position sizing, and risk management. Drew began his investment career in 1991 as a private banker with First Union National Bank in Atlanta, where he provided a variety of banking and investment services to high-net-worth individuals and family offices.
Drew was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in September 2000. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University with a Minor in Business Administration. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Denver Society of Security Analysts. In his spare time, he likes to travel, play golf, coach his son’s baseball team, and attend Broncos and Rockies games. Drew also played competitive golf at Vanderbilt.
